Additional Underground Communication Information

The highly anticipated album from this underground cult heavyweight combines the visceral melodic presence of modern listening music with the force and volume of sound system dancehall devastation. "Underground Communication" is an exploration of hip-hop culture, featuring scores of MCs and rhythmic poetics mashed atop a heavy, driving range of tempo and, of course, those signature throbbing bass lines. Rooted in political conviction, philosophical intention, and backed by a rabid fan base, this release sets a new standard for the possibilities of merging music, art, new media, and social activism. Bassnectar is already gaining critical acclaim from tastemakers at URB, Flavorpill, and BPM, and has won the Nitevibe.com, SF Weekly, and SF Bay Guardian award honors for "San Francisco's Best DJ."

What Customers Say About Underground Communication:

Fine production. 4.5 starsI was grooving to a great dance band last week and during the break the dj threw the track Stomp on. I got the name of the record from the dj and checked out all the bassnectar albums, and this is my favorite, mainly due to that track. Boooom, baby. What more can you ask.Just Stomp played over and over at full volume in your favorite club.love that beat that comes in at 3:00. Dig that huge drum sound.

But nowhere is there any gangsta feel, etc; the coolest thing about bn is his desire to be intelligent, socially progressive and positive. Man, my butt just started rockin' all over the floor. Makes you wonder where the bass is on all your other cds.The rest of the cd is mostly fat and funky as well, with a nice mix of hiphop, trance, ambient and house vibes and the occasional decent rap thrown in. But only in a club can you hear the almost subsonic bass that really makes this track gargantuan at 100 decibels plus. This guy knows how to make a track throb with bass. The whole album rumbles like nutty. He gets there and makes your ass drop at the same time.

If that don't make your rump bump, get a walker.

Several good tracks here - Worth the purchase of CD - the bass is mesmerizing, and the vocal samples are fresh.

i got this originally for the song "yo" it wasn't the version i wanted but as i listened to the rest of the cd i found myself enjoying it and its become better with each listening.

but then it went out really quick. but kinda got a kick in the pants.Saw a show recently that pretty much rocked every fiber in my soul. . and was rather downtempo. and this album channelled maybe like, 2 fibers. and they rubbed together and sort of srtated a fire. and vaguely dirty/ambient.We got mad talent here. just not so much on this particular album.

I bought this album after experiencing Loren at Burning Man this year, and I am extremely happy with it, even if my neighbors are not.
